The 'PokerStars LIVE Manila' poker room completed its first special event with the inaugural Manila Megastack which took place from January 14-18.
Over the five-day schedule, the six tournaments drew totals of 235 players and nearly PHP 3 million in prize money.

"It's great to see some of our Macau regulars come to Manila to celebrate the new poker room." said Poker Room Manager Gerardo "Hill" Alim. "The numbers this week are a good start and we're excited about the future growth of the Manila Megastack as a significant series in the Philippines."
Korean Joon-han Lee defeated Hong Kong's Raiden Kan during heads up play to win the Main Event. Lee earned PHP 439,300 for his victory as well as the distinction as the first ever winner.

Lee was making his second final table of the early Asia Player of the Year season and currents sits at No. 5. Meanwhile, Kan's runner-up finish gives him 12,732 points on the all-time list in Official Asia Player of the Year events to leapfrog Team PokerStars Pro Celina Lin (12,434) for the top spot. Kan and Lin are also tied for most ever final tables at 26 each.
