Today, PokerStars Macau revealed that the highly anticipated October 26 - November 11 launch of the 2012 Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP) will have certain tournaments designated as ACOP Title Events.
These events have buy-ins ranging from HK $8,000 (US $1,000) to HK $250,000 (US $32,000) with the exception of the HK $2,000 Rebuy event and the Ladies Asia Championship.
"Clearly, the ACOP has a lot of excitement surrounding the Main Event and the fact that it guarantees the largest prize pool in Asia." said Danny McDonagh, PokerStars Director of Live Operations for Asia-Pacific. "But the vision for the poker series is quite literal to its name. These 'ACOP Title Events' ARE the Asia championship tournaments of poker."
In terms of historical significance, these titles will be the measuring stick for all-time achievements at the ACOP. The winners will receive a special ACOP Title trophy, which will be revealed at a later time.
"It's a very exciting schedule and there's never been anything like it in Asia." said Team PokerStars Pro Celina Lin. "It's a preview to some of the most prestigious titles to come!"
The ACOP is an Official APPT Event and features the HK $100,000 (US $13,000) buy-in Main Event which comes with a HK $10,000,000 (US $1.3 Million) guarantee. The 17-day poker extravaganza will be held at the Grand Waldo Entertainment Complex.
Players can qualify now to the ACOP at PokerStars.net.
